Though the bankruptcy code doesn’t define what adequate protection is, it is generally considered to be regular installment payments on a loan as well as a duty to maintain insurance on the property so that the creditor is adequately protected. Changes in the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 are supposed to help secured creditors, however, when more than one secured creditor is included in the bankruptcy filing, you may need to take action to ensure that you get paid the money you are owed.
